So I bought a ‘new’ car today. After a lot of thinking and back and forth I decided i’d take the risk.. What risk? Buying a 37 year old Alfa..
After selling my 1992 Alfa Romeo 33 QV I got this nice Alfa Giulia Super Nuova fitted with a 2.0 engine. The drive home was a blast and got the first few thumbs up :) Maybe ill post some more stuff as I work on the car. It needs a little TLC but I believe I’ve got a very good basis for a good price.

The return of the dented trunk, the Nuova, right? Great buy, enjoy it! And do share more of it. Gefeliciteerd!!!

Dankjewel! But this has the ‘smooth’ trunk lid unfortunately. The first series had the nice grille, bonnet and trunklid. But unfortunately a first series was not in the budget, prices of those have gone skyhigh in the last few years.

Gorgeous! Wish I lived there so I could visit and see one first hand! :)

They’re pretty rare in Canada as they were never sold here...

Should have bought a Diesel, I’d imagine those are pretty worthless.

There are a surprisingly high amount of them left in the Netherlands. There is a pretty big classic Alfa Romeo community in the Netherlands. If you ever get to my side of the pond you can have a look ;)

Good looking car! A lot nicer profile than the Berlina I considered yanking out of a junkyard many years ago.

They made a diesel version for a while, but god.. why would you want a ‘70's anemic diesel if you can have the glorious twincam :)

Thanks for the offer, haha! :) There are a few across Canada - I see them advertised online, but there’ve never been any near me, so I’ve never seen one in person, sadly!

Just don’t look at those doors. It’s been daily driven in Dutch winter 1 winter too long. Front of the S1 looks better as well. If you neglect that fine line of corrosion ;-)

Have fun with it!

Nice! Big Alfa fan :)

Personally, I’d absolutely love an Alfetta saloon series 1 (either with a 2.0l T-Spark or a 3.0l Arese 12v) or an Alfetta GTV with a 3.0l Arese (I prefer the earlier looks of the GTV to the later GTV6).

The Alfetta road legal race car from a friend. Fitted with a 3.0 24V V6. Bigger brakes, race suspension, full cage etc... Absolute beast to drive on the road. And a pain in the ass to park, they yanked out the power steering :-)
